Now, you're all grown up. You may have little ones of your own -- and yet, you're still an impatient tike, just in grown-up clothes. Waiting is still hard. That's why we have a special gift for you that requires NO waiting at all. It's OSP's new digital magazine: OSP WORLD.
Why do I still feel this excitement after 15 years of living and breathing OSP EXPO each fall? I think it's the natural outpouring of ideas that bubble up when all of us OSP-junkies gather in one place.
Providers are on a not-so-secret mission to deliver network capacity to their mobile broadband customers. And behind the scenes, the OSP may be the double agent working every angle to make it come together.
Parks Associates recently shared some research about service providers' efforts to dominate the connected home. That's no surprise since nearly 71% of all U.S. households will have broadband by the end of 2012. And with revenue and subscriber growth rates already down, it makes everyone eager to tap end users' digital lives for some much needed revenue. Can you impact this in anyway? Yes!
The results are in from our annual Reader's Survey, and, whew! You told us a thing or two! You gave us a piece of your mind about what was important and not-so-important to you in OSP-land. You let us know the topics we need to hit more often, and those you didn't give a hoot about.
I also remind myself that I AM a leader and can lead in quiet ways that don't involve standing on my chair yelling, "I'm a leader! Did you get that? I AM!" (We're ALL true leaders if we choose to be. Right?)
Don't know about you, but I've had to do some revised planning for when (or if!) I'll retire. Over coffee this morning, I reviewed a "Retirement" spreadsheet my financial-wizard husband created for us -- and my coffee suddenly didn't seem strong enough. It appears that the economy has not been my friend over the last several years in the retirement area. (Shocker, right?)
