How To Submit An Article
- If you have an Abstract, please send it to the Editorial Director (ED) at least four (4) months in advance of your targeted issue month. The Abstract should be at least one (1) paragraph outlining the focus and main points of your article. Also include a closing paragraph listing the benefit(s) to the reader.
- If a draft of the Article is ready, please send it the Editorial Director (ED) at least four (4) months in advance of your targeted issue month. The Article should be between 1,000 and 2,500 words in length.
- We prefer to receive Abstracts and Articles via email. Please send your Abstract / Article as either a Word, Text Only, or a Rich Text document. Send them via e-mail to the ED: sharon@ospmag.com
- You can also submit your Article via floppy disk or CD; please send a printout with these media. Mail the disk/CD to: Editorial Director, Sharon Vollman, OSP® Magazine, 220 N Smith St Ste 228, Palatine IL 60067
- Keep commercialism minimal; you can mention only once (1) a company producing a product / technology / method. Please do not submit any sales or marketing-oriented material.
- The ED will contact you regarding your article. In general, abstracts and articles are read within 1-2 weeks of submission.
- Submit your final article text to the ED at least 6 weeks before the intended date of publication. The ED determines the final publication date; publication dates may be changed at the ED's discretion.
How to Submit Image Files
Here are the criteria for submitting photographs and artwork.
- If you have them, please send 2 to 4 pictures or diagrams with your article. All artwork should be camera-ready; no re-tracing or photographic touch-up should be needed. All artwork, photos, and digital files should be labeled with your company name and caption.
Digital Files
We accept EPS, JPG, and TIF files.
Resolution: 300 dpi (High resolution)
Color: CMYK
We are unable to use images embedded in Word documents, or in PowerPoint files. Please convert any such images to our accepted format: EPS, JPG, or TIF (see above).
We prefer to receive digital files via email; please send them, along with your article text file, to: sharon@ospmag.com.
Digital files may also be sent to us on disk or CD. Please send a print-out with these media.

Photography
Media: slide, transparency, or professional quality print.
Color photos are best.
All artwork, photos, and digital files should be labeled with company name and caption.
Include the DISK OUTPUT FORM with your photography.

Tools of the Trade (Product News)
- Product news can be submitted to OSP® Magazine at anytime. Product news should be 50-150 words in length; as a Word, Rich Text, or Plain Text file; and sent to the Managing Editor, Karen Adolphson, via email: karen@ospmag.com.
An image file of your product is welcome. Please follow the Digital Files criteria (above).
Space allowing, your product news may appear in the Tools of the Trade department in an upcoming issue of OSP® Magazine.
Things to Keep in Mind
- OSP® Magazine reserves the right to edit all submissions for clarity and length, and according to the magazine's editorial guidelines and publications policies.
- It is understood that, once your Article is accepted, and you sign and return the Author's Release to Publish for that Article, your Article (or sections of it) may be published, at OSP® Magazine's discretion, in the magazine's print and electronic versions, in the on-line version (ospmag.com), and in the OSP E-Newsletter.
