Joe Blanchard has served as ReliOn’s Vice President of Product Line Management since July 2005, having joined the company in April 2005 as Senior Director of Product Line Management. Mr. Blanchard spent the previous 18 years with Fujitsu in Richardson, TX. During his tenure at Fujitsu, he held various management positions in development, product management, product support and services. Prior to Fujitsu, he worked in product development for Rockwell/Wescom and for GTE Automatic Electric. For more than 22 years, Mr. Blanchard has been involved in the design, development, marketing and support of products spanning DLC/DSLAMs and FTTx systems, telecom cabinets and power systems, optical transport, DWDM systems, Class 5 switching and PBX systems.
Equipment Provider: Rich Garafola, Alcatel Lucent

Rich Garafola is Senior Director of Sustainable Power Solutions in the Network and Systems Integration Division of Alcatel-Lucent’s Services Group located in Westford, MA.
Rich leads a team of business and technical professionals that manage the portfolio of products and services that assess, design, implement and maintain solutions that address power consumption and technology. Some of his current responsibilities include: leading Alcatel-Lucent’s Alternative Energy Program, the telecom industry’s first commercial offering of alternative energy products to power telecom networks; developing the company’s Modular Cooling Solution, which dramatically decreases the energy required to cool high density servers and electronic equipment; and overseeing Alcatel-Lucent’s suite of power deployment services.
Rich holds a B.S. in Technical Management from Southern New Hampshire University and an A.S. in Digital Electronics Technology from Rhode Island School of Electronics.
Presenter: Jim Lienau, Cellcom
Jim Lienau, Vice President of technical services and Chief Technical Officer, Cellcom

As Vice President of technical services and Chief Technical Officer, Jim is responsible for all Nsight and Cellcom corporate engineering and technical operations. More specifically, Jim oversees wireline and wireless switching systems, fiber optic, microwave, LMDS, TDM and IP-based networks, broadband wireless and WAN data services, St. Paul Tower operations, strategic planning and engineering personnel.
He brings nearly 40 years of engineering and technical experience to his position. Prior to joining Nsight, Jim taught communications networks and systems at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and held communication engineering positions at Michigan Technological University. He has worked for CBS television station and radio network in Chicago and consulted for AM and FM broadcast stations and business radio systems.
Jim holds a degree in electrical engineering from Michigan Technological University. He and his wife Mary live in Green Bay and have two sons.
