Are You a Thought Leader?
Have you ever thought of an idea that has the potential to improve your company? Or have you wanted to share your take on this market but wondered if your opinion really matters?
This has happened to me more than once. In the moment that it overtakes me, I feel like Einstein discovering the theory of relativity. ”Ah, ha! This is it!” I think to myself. It’s inspiring and re-energizing! A few weeks later, I usually happen upon someone who was brave enough to go public with “my” idea.
Then I berate myself for not sticking my neck out and acting as a true thought leader. I am in awe of those driven people who express their opinions loudly and are boldly passionate about that which stirs a fire in their belly. They are confident in their position, not egotistical or abrasive. These people make me feel alive and re-fueled just by listening to or reading what they have to say.
That’s what we need right now, and I’m not talking politics. We need industry leaders to position themselves as forward-thinkers and share their ideas about HOW today’s communications and entertainment providers can beat those cable dudes (amid a less-than-stellar economy). We need to hear the substance behind their arguments and feel the passion in their voices.
That’s why OSP® is instituting a new section of our print product devoted to that very premise. (See page 9.) We invite readers, advertisers, and analysts from all levels of the business to express their opinions about that which matters deeply to them. These Thought-Leader articles can be technology-oriented or opinion-oriented. OSP®’s new section allows anyone (not just those annoying editor-types) to express an opinion without hesitation – and feel a rush of adrenaline from going public with it.
Don’t be shy. Contact me and get your voice heard. It may be your time to shine in our industry while, at the same time, you improve your company’s position in the marketplace.
