ADC’s Rural Carrier Group Brimming With Excitement at OSP EXPO 2OO9
At this year’s OSP EXPO, attendees soaked in a new Summit sponsored by ADC. Through interactive group discussion, participants had the unique opportunity to share, learn, and discuss ideas relative to specific challenges and strategies surrounding rural FTTP deployments and emerging network issues and technologies.
The 4-hour program was broken into two, 2-hour, in-depth interactive sessions beginning with small group discussions on relevant topics concerning emerging network issues and technologies, and concluded with a discussion during which participants shared their findings and observations with the larger group.
The morning session kicked off with discussion regarding updates and insights on the Broadband Stimulus Activities. Speakers were Tom Cohen, Partner, Kelley Drye & Warren, LLP; and Jaxon Lang, Vice President, Global Connectivity Solutions - Americas, ADC.
The afternoon session provided an analysis of fiber-to-the-home applicants for Broadband Stimulus funding. The speaker was David Russell, Solutions Marketing Director, Calix. Small group discussions followed. Primary discussion topics varied by table and included evaluation of specific technologies, architectures and deployment approaches. A secondary topic at most tables included a discussion of how the attendees’ organization approached phase one of the Broadband Stimulus opportunity and how they will be approaching phase two.
