Cincinnati Bell and Frontier Communications Execs to Deliver Tuesday Keynote at OSP EXPO® 2011, Thought Leaders Panel Keynote Slated for Wednesday
OSP EXPO today announced a stellar lineup of top network executives who will address the more than 3,500 delegates expected to attend the OSP EXPO September 12-14 at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Tuesday keynote will feature Jeffrey Carr, Cincinnati Bell’s Chief Technology Officer and Michael Golob, Senior Vice President, Engineering & Technology, Frontier Communications.
Tuesdays’s keynote, The Power of Strong IOC’s – Entrepreneurial Strategies for an Evolving Network, will share how Independents are industry leaders due to their agility and ability to quickly adopt leading-edge technologies for their customers. From mobile data and mobile commerce to home networking and value-adds like home automation, IOCs are on the leading edge. “We are delighted to present representatives of two of the most progressive IOCs in our industry on Tuesday,” said Sharon Vollman, VP/Editorial Director, OSP® magazine. “This joint presentation will demonstrate how IOCs are adopting next-generation technologies as successfully and proactively as larger players in the industry.”
Jeffrey Carr, Chief Technology Officer of Cincinnati Bell, is responsible for Information Technology, Network Services and Real Estate Management. He heads the team providing the strategy and leadership over consumer and business networks serving 600,000+ customers with voice, wireless, video and data services. He brings 15 years of technology and business expertise to this leadership role, following a well-rounded career as an entrepreneur, operator and consultant.
Michael P. Golob, Senior Vice President of Engineering and Technology for Frontier Communications Corporation (NYSE: FTR), is responsible for all network planning, new technology development, selection and implementation; 24x7 network operations centers; Internet service operations; project management; SS7 network; E-911 network; switch translations; network provisioning and activations; capital management; central office equipment installation; and engineering records for the 27-state communications provider. He played a critical role, which continues today, in the network integration related to Frontier’s acquisition of assets in 14 states from Verizon Communications in July 2010. The transaction tripled the size of the company, making Frontier the largest provider of communications services to rural America and a Fortune 300 company. It currently serves approximately 4 million customers with more than 14,900 employees, all of whom are based in the United States.
Wednesday’s panel discussion will feature OSP’s 2011 Thought Leaders as they Go to Bat for Rural Communities. Thought Leaders Live participants will include:
